Saying otherwise is showing that you have never played around with a build at all to try and determine the way the game works. Same thing with any other class you deal more damage and do it at the same speed with 3 dex or 22 dex. A 5th level figher easily hits between 20 and 35 points of damage per hit with an average speed weapon at the same speed in full plate with 3 dex or 22 Dex. If it actually effected attack recovery speed that would be different but it doesn't, is having a high reflex save somewhat nice sure in certain situation thats why i tend to play sword and shield style because it off balances the negatives.Īs for the animation speed if you max out dex and equip everything that raises it it only increases the animation speed by a fracttion of a second where as with maximum might your dps is so much higher. It has no purpose you can jack it up and see for yourself on a reset it has zero effect on anything for your character on any build. No you don't it doesn't do anything it affects attack animation speed and reflex saves that is all it effects at all. Originally posted by Wasted_46:stormcaller ranger was always and still is the only build I consider borderline cheating. There are a few broken items that can help certain characters do well, a high intellect Barbarian can do well with the spear Tall Grass as can a Ranger with the bow Stormcaller. It works well but there is a lot of micromanagment since you want to chain CC abilities so that the enemy never has a chance to act. My personal favorite would be Paladin (Tank and ACC buff), Priest (Buffer/Healer), 2 Druids (AOE DPS and CC), 2 Ciphers (Single Target DPS and CC), which is a really CC heavy party. You encounter NPCs throughout your adventure that will fill some of the missing roles you need, or you can hire generic adventurers to have full control over your party and their classes. The best party has a mix of different functions, but probably has at least: a character who can tank for about 10s, a priest, and enough CC to immobilize a dangerous target long enough to kill it. In Pillars of Eternity, you control of group of adventurers - 6 of them to be precise. There are a lot of parties that do well on the highest difficulty setting. There really isn't one build that will crush the game, or one party. Players will be able to easily navigate the game's detailed character creation, real-time-with-pause combat, and party management from their couches thanks to new TV-friendly menus and controls. It depends a bit on your style and what you want since different classes do different things well:īest Tank: Paladin or Fighter (technically a Wizard can get a higher defense but it takes them a few seconds to buff up to that level) Ok, I see all these nice 'solo builds' but cant figure out how to survive early on without dying constantly and/or tons of rest/agro one enemy/repeat. Paradox Arctic has thoroughly updated the Xbox One version of the award-winning RPG for play with a controller, and have entirely redesigned the UI for easy viewing on televisions. Having breezed through the game in a 6-person party (on regular mode) I decided to go back and try a solo on regular mode. Now, Paradox Arctic has adapted this unmissable RPG for an entirely new audience on major consoles - bringing Pillars' fantastical world, tactical combat, and unforgettable story to fans on a whole new platform. Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition includes all previously released additional content from the PC version, including all DLC and expansions in a single package.īut Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition goes beyond just offering everything together. From there, it released to broad critical acclaim, won dozens of awards, and has been a fan favorite on the PC. On top of that, the combat system adds to the game. Pathfinder on the other hand is based on an established rule set that is pretty popular, and rightfully so, because. Pillars of Eternity does not rewrite the foundations of the RPG genre but it stands out as an amazing tribute to the classics and with its experience in exploring a wide, vast world and centrality of the players actions in the top-quality plot the result it a game that never runs out of steam. The rule set is bland and pretty overtly balanced. It lacks almost all of the good stuff and creativity that made DnD 3.5 and AD&D so good. Pillars of Eternity, the ultimate role-playing experience on PC, comes to Xbox One! Created by and for role-playing fans by Obsidian Entertainment, masters of the RPG genre, Pillars started as a Kickstarter project, where it shattered all funding goals and pulled in more than 75,000 backers. Pillars of Eternity is based on a custom original rule set that was developed by Obsidian.
